Swallowing feels different

First off I have had post nasal drip for years. Every morning I get up and cough up mucus and sometimes I get it during the day too and have to hack it up. This summer I have been taking Claritin D for my allergies since my ears felt full and my doctor recommended I take Allegra or something similar. The last month or so I noticed that sometimes it feels weird to swallow. Not when I am eating but just when I swallow normally. It feels like I cannot feel it in the back of my throat but I feel the sensation closer up. It's not as satisfying if that makes sense and leaves me feeling like I still need to swallow again. It's annoying too. I normally end up making myself cough so I can take care of that "need to swallow" tickle at the back of my throat. I feel like this sounds crazy!
