Back pain question (with MRI)

28 year old male. My back has been hurting on and off at night for a couple years now but has gotten worse over the last 6 months or so. It wakes me up and I can't go back to sleep until an ibuprofen or two kicks in. The pain is around the level of my umbilicus or a little higher. It is achy and sometimes sharp, and when really bad is worsened by deep inspiration. It almost never hurts during the day and if it does is quite mild. It goes away shortly after I get up in the morning. Recently I have noticed point tenderness in the area and it seems (though I may be imagining this) that the subcutaneous fat/tissue in the are is thinned out as compared to the rest of my spine.
I am otherwise healthy except for a cholecystectomy a couple years ago.

I went to see a back pain doc awhile ago about this about 4-5 months ago but they said I was fine and sent me on my merry way. At the time I got an MRI, a few frames of which I have linked to below. I noticed something funky looking around where I put a red arrow pointing.

Thanks!

Nothing weird. Just muscle. You can Xpost to /r/radiology though if you feel that unsure about it.

I am not a trained radiologist so /r/Radiology may be your best bet.
